Preparing for your move to Uni? Don’t rush to buy everything just yet! You could save money, help the environment and raise funds for charity by buying your kitchenware and electrical appliances from our British Heart Foundation pop-up shop as part of The Big Green Clean Project.
What is it?
The Big Green Clean is a collaborative project run by YUSU, Colleges, the University and the British Heart Foundation which helps leaving students get rid of unwanted stuff and provides new students with an opportunity to buy household items for cheap. Recycling these items helps the environment, with less going to waste, and raises money for charity!
We received a huge amount of donations from students leaving their accommodation over the summer. This has been sorted and similar items are now coming back onto campus to be sold at our British Heart Foundation pop-up shop during Freshers’ Week.
When will the British Heart Foundation pop-up shop be?
The pop-up shop will be in Week 1 of term, on Monday 30th September. It will take place on Greg’s Place from 10:30am until 3pm. This will be led by the British Heart Foundation and you will be able to purchase any items for a small charitable donation, which will help to fund their life saving work.
What will be sold?
Items will include:
Pots and Pans
Crockery & Plates
Mugs and Glassware
Small Electrical Appliances
Can I still donate unwanted items?
If still have unwanted items to get rid of, look out for the numerous British Heart Foundation steel donation banks across campus and at each college. These are for unwanted CLOTHES, CD’s, DVD’s, BOOKS, ACCESSORIES and more.
