College Sport


Get involved with sport in your college to become part of a unique community that is welcoming to everyone, regardless of ability.

Each college has their own sports teams for you to become a part of. Speak to your elected College Committee to find out more information.

Competitions within the College Sport programme include:

Leagues 

Take part in a weekly league match against your rival colleges. All matches are on campus so limited travel is required. To find out the fixture details, results and leagues, head to the Playwaze app for more information.

Tournaments

Some sports have one off tournaments that take place termly. Speak to your sports rep for more information.

College Cup

Term 3 sees the inaugural College Cup come to campus. Sports include football, hockey and netball. Join your college team on their quest to be College Cup Champions!

College Varsity

This is an annual event against Durham University. The best York college teams take on their Durham rivals to be crowned College Varsity Champion. There are 13 sports involved in the competition so plenty of variety, all you need to do to get involved is your college sport teams.

Qualifiers:
In order to decide who will represent York in Varsity, we host qualifier tournaments in term 2. You must finish well in your league to be in with a chance so every match counts!

Sports Reps

These are an elected position within in College. Sports Reps help to organise teams, support captains and organise one off events. Elections take place in November each year.

College Sport Ambassadors

Currently YUSU has 4 ambassadors who are paid per term. Their role involves organising College Sport fixtures, collating results and supporting captains.

College Sport Assistant

This is a part time role at YUSU. The College Sport Assistant leads on all things College Sport with the York Sport President, managing the PlayWaze app and much more.

Officials
