About Sing Song Society
York Sing Song Society is a small, all-inclusive, student-run choir at the University of York. We sing a wide variety of music at various concerts in and around York. We have one themed concert per term to show off what we have learnt, as well as charity gigs whenever they spring up. We have frequent non-compulsory socials, too, to get to know the rest of the choir!
We are a mixed SATB choir - that means we sing in four parts: soprano, alto, tenor, and bass, and you can sing in whichever one you feel fits your voice best! These pieces may be light-hearted pop arrangements, songs from Disney films, or classical works, and anything in between.
We have an open admissions policy - this means no auditions. Anyone who enjoys singing is welcome at our rehearsals. And while experience is greatly appreciated, everyone's contribution is welcome. If you like arranging music, want to accompany us on the piano, or have a go at conducting, we will be happy to help you give it a shot!
If you have any questions, about Sing Song Society, or uni life in general, please email us or join our group and make a post, we'd love to help you out!
Meeting Times
The choir meets 7-9:30pm every Wednesday evening. We rehearse in lecture rooms on Campus West.
