About Photography Society
Dedicated to developing your photography skills, we run training sessions, experience days, socials and events throughout the year, with like minded individuals. We have our own photography studio in Wentworth College and darkroom near James College, which members can access once they have attended free training sessions.
Your 19/20 Committee Members are:
President - Rosie Dyball
Secretary - Emily Palframan
Treasurer - Grace Imeson-Wood
Darkroom Officer - Marc Holmes
Studio Officer - Miles Corum
Media Manager - Josh Williams
Media Manager - Isaac Jones
Membership is only £8 for the entire academic year which gets you access to our equipment, our photography studio and our darkroom and also to come along to our weekly events!
We hold an event each week of the academic term and they normally take place on a Tuesday evening but this may vary due to what event is being held on that week but with our weekly emails and updates on our social media, you will be able to find out when and where our events will be held. If you are in your first year and you are new to York and the campus, we will have a meeting point to then move onto the venue so no need to worry about how you are going to get to our events!
PhotoSoc is open to anyone with an interest in photography, whether they are a complete beginner or an amateur. We welcome everyone to come and try out our society, even if you are in your first year or final year, come to our events and feel welcomed into our society. You don't need a camera to join as we have got cameras for you to use. Follow our social media pages to find out how you can get involved and don't worry if you are not on social media as if you sign up to our mailing list then you will get weekly emails with all the information you need!
