About Feminist Society
The University of York Feminist society usually holds weekly events in an accessible room on campus. These meetings vary from collaborations with other societies, to film viewings, to talks and debates with panels or guest speakers.
We also have a strong online presence, especially in recent times, and encourage anyone to join in on our online events. You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Wordpress at @uoyfemsoc
We practice inclusive and intersectional feminism! No prior knowledge of feminism is needed to join or participate and we encourage everyone to join in. We are all learning and educating ourselves and others, and femsoc aims to create a space to do so.
Meeting Times
To be confirmed: Thursdays 7pm-9pm, usually Campus West. For updates, like our Facebook page, and sign up to our mailing list at [email protected]
However, our online presence is constant so follow for updates!
Get Involved
Femsoc is for everyone, we are sex-worker supportive, trans-inclusionary, and intersectional. Our events aim to create a safe and fun space to explore feminism. In this light, we are strictly anti-racist and anti-discrimination, and do not tolerate this at events or on our online media platforms.

We have a £4 membership fee*, however this is optional, and our events are free to attend, unless we are raising donations!
*This fee goes to the running of the society and enables us to put on better and bigger events and host fundraisers!
