About British Heart Foundation Society
We are a student group within the university of York that support the British Heart Foundation. We look to raise awareness and fundraise for the British heart foundation within the university.
The British Heart Foundation fund over £100 million of research each year into all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them. Heart diseases. Stroke. Vascular Dementia. Diabetes. They’re all connected, and they’re all under our microscope.
The British Heart Foundations research has given us machines that can restart hearts, the ability to fix arteries in tiny babies, devices to correct heartbeats, the power to give someone a heart they weren’t born with, and so much more.
The British Heart Foundation have helped transform survival rates but heart and circulatory diseases still kill 1 in 4 people in the UK, they cause heartbreak on every street. And their work is urgent and vital as ever.
The research they carry out, is the promise to protect the people we love. Our parents. Our brothers. Our sisters. Our grandparents. Our closest friends.
Research is who they are. Their promise of future cures and treatments. The promise to beat heartbreak forever.
Together, we can beat heartbreak forever.
Everybody welcome to come along. If that’s getting fully involved or just as and when. No commitment needed. Come to our meetings to see what’s going on and how to get more involved, or join in at one of our events.
