About Album Society
Hi everyone! ALBUMthony SOCtano here, and it’s time for another soc review. This society is the sophomore effort of York students looking to listen to and discuss albums in a friendly environment with whoever is down for it.
What We DoWe hold listening parties on a regular basis – either digging deep into a project (or performance) of your choice or partaking in an aux-free-for-all where anyone can play anything.
Once in a while, we even do our very own ‘Let’s Argue’ where everyone gets the chance to debate each other’s musical hot takes, unpopular opinions and tough questions.
When restrictions open up, we’re also going to be attending some gigs together, and maybe even a festival (come along to help us decide which).
We are looking to collaborate with other socs to explore the different ways in which music gains cultural relevance: if you run a society, let us know if you’d be interested!
Have you given our spiel a listen? Did you love it? Did you hate it? What would you rate it? You’re the best, you’re the best. What should we listen to next?
Hit the like if you like (on our Instagram). Please subscribe (to our mailing list, as well as joining our group chat - drop us a DM or an email) and please don’t cry (we’re a welcoming society and all musical tastes and opinions are valued). Hit the bell as well (or: mark yourself as going to or interested in our events on Facebook). Over here next to my head is another soc, hit that up or the link to join our mailing list.
York Album Soc. Vibing to music. Forever.
