About ABACUS
ABACUS (Association of British and Chinese University Students) is an inclusive society which unites all types of Asian international students and British born Asians. It is a central hub primarily for East Asians of different backgrounds but also welcomes all people wishing to learn more about East Asian culture and to make friends of different cultural backgrounds.
We will be hosting a variety of social events to cater to all people:
Games nights - card games, board games, video games Sports events - badminton, football, basketball etc
Film nights - Asian movies, kdrama, anime, etc
Cultural events - Chinese New Year, Mid-Autumn festival Party socials - kpop/club nights, karaoke, house parties Food events - hotpot, dinners, cooking
Travelling - visiting other ABACUS societies in the UK (e.g. Nottingham, London, etc) Collaborative events with other cultural societies

COVID: Given the current times we will be hosting a variety of online events such as movie/tv screenings (e.g. Studio Ghibli movies, kdramas, asian movies, anime ), video games (e.g. Among Us, Scribblio, League of Legends, Valorant), party games, video calls etc.
We also hope to host in-person activities as much as possible which will involve sports such as badminton, food parties and festival celebrations.
