About KEEN York
KEEN York provides weekly sports and activity sessions for children with special needs and disabilities. Sessions mainly consistent of nostalgic playground games which are just as fun for the volunteers as the children (so don't worry if you're not sporty!). We also have several special sessions a year such as swimming and trampolining!
Meeting Times
Sessions take place on Sundays during term time, from 1-2pm in the dance hall at the Heslington West sports centre. There is no obligation to attend every week!
Get Involved
Anyone can get involved with KEEN. You don't need to be sporty or have any previous experience of working with children. Our sessions are fantastic if you are looking for experience working with children (aged 3-16), particular with additional needs. KEEN is perfectly suited for anyone just looking to do something fun and engage with the wider community in York.
Additional Info
All volunteers are required to complete the online North Yorkshire safeguarding certificate before attending. If you decide to become more involved, or attend sessions regularly, you will need to complete a DBS check. Please email [email protected] to find out how to get involved!
